Are you
open Saturdays?
Yes. We now have a clinic open Saturday mornings
from 9am ? 1pm for patients who work or find it
difficult to attend the surgery during working
hours. Please note these are pre-bookable
appointments only. We cannot see patients who
turn up on the day.

If I have a
general question and don?t need an appointment
can I speak to a doctor on the phone?
Yes. We have bookable telephone appointments
with all the doctors. Please ask reception about
them.

How can I
order a repeat prescription?
You can order a repeat prescription by
completing the slip attached to your last
prescription. Please hand this in or send it to
our reception. You can also order repeat
prescriptions online and by email from this
website. completing an order slip in the surgery
or faxing or emailing your request to us. We do
not accept requests over the phone. Please allow
48 hours before you call to collect your
prescription.

Why can?t I
order a repeat prescription over the phone?
There is much more chance of confusion and
misunderstanding over the phone and we have had
problems in the past with patients not being
sure which medication they want and mistakes
being made.

How do I
arrange a home visit?
Requests for emergency home visits must be
telephoned to the surgery by midday. Usually the
duty doctor will return your call and assess the
level of urgency, and if it is appropriate for
them to visit or to consider other options.

How do I
access my medical records?
Everyone has the right to have a copy of their
medical records (please see our charges for non
NHS work) under the Data Protection Act 1998.
There are however some exceptions:
? If a healthcare professional believes that the
information held within the records is likely to
cause serious harm to the patient or another
person access may be denied.
? Any references about third parties might be
removed from the records.
? If you are applying on behalf of someone else
you will need either a letter giving their
consent or a power of attorney
Should you wish access to your medical records
either to view or to copy you will need to do so
in writing. Please address your request to the
practice manager or to your usual doctor.

Is there a charge for travel vaccinations?
We aim to provide advise and vaccinations for
patients travelling outside the UK under NHS
guidelines. Please make an appointment for a
personal travel consultation with the practice
nurse 6-8 weeks before travelling. The practice
nurse will advise whether travel vaccinations
are required and what other healthcare measures
are needed including malaria advice and
prevention.
What is the cost?
Some vaccinations are available free of
charge on the NHS for overseas travel:
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
Diptheria / Tetanus / Polio
Malaria tablets are prescribed on a
private prescription only.
Some malaria tablets can be bought from
a pharmacist without prescription. The
practice nurse will advise you if these
are suitable for your destination.
The following vaccines are not available
on the NHS for overseas travel:
Hepatitis B (course of 3) Available
at the practice at a cost of ?30 per
course / Private clinic)
Rabies (course of 3) - Private Clinic
Meningitis ACWY - Private clinic
Japanese Encephalitis - Private clinic
BCG - Private clinic
Please note the cost of travel vaccines
at private clinics may vary.
